The Hotel is centrally-located and conveniently placed to explore the town with its historic Church Street and many other attractions and amenities.
The main hotel building dates from 1859 and offers a range of contemporary-styled luxurious rooms. The Winterhoek Manor (1813) and the Toll House (1809), adjacent to the hotel, are two of the heritage properties in Church Street, offering charming period rooms. Individual décor and fine cotton linen adorning four poster beds. Chandeliers on yellowwood beamed ceilings. The Honeymoon Suite is the jewel in our crown. Crafted from the old wagon shed, this suite oozes romantic charm. Open thatch, two fireplaces, bath and shower for two.
There are three pool areas, free Wi-Fi throughout and Trident is our in house spa. All areas have air conditioning and there are cosy wood-burning fires for winter evenings. Tulbagh is a comfortable 90 minute drive from Cape Town, nestled at the foot of the Witzenberg, Winterhoek and Obiqua Mountains in the heart of the Cape Winelands.
The Karee Lounge Bar offers a range of speciality teas, coffees, milkshakes, freshly squeezed juices, and freshly baked cakes throughout the day. We have a comprehensive range of local wines, draught craft beers and gin cocktails.
For a light meal we offer a tapas menu, with a South African influence, and gourmet pizzas from the wood fired oven. Open daily from 7am until 10pm, call in anytime, even if it's just for a coffee or glass of wine, you are assured of a warm welcome.
The Olive Terrace Bistro offers à la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. As our emphasis is on sourcing local fresh seasonal produce, the menu changes weekly, and is an eclectic celebration of South African and international cuisine, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options.
The bistro has cosy fireplaces for winter, and a beautiful terrace and courtyard for summer al fresco dining.
THE HONEYMOON SUITE
The exclusive Honeymoon Suite is an idyllic romantic retreat, offering old world charm under a thatched roof with all the modern comforts and many unique features.
This spacious suite is air conditioned, has a four-poster bed, lounge area with fireplace, cable TV, WiFi and NFC sound bar to enjoy your own music collection. In addition there is a dressing area, luxurious shower and bath with a second fireplace in the bathroom.
Step through the door into and indigenous garden with an acacia tree providing shade for the pool. Historic Church Street is just the other side of the garden gate.
Named after the mountains to the west of Tulbagh, this suite is part of our heritage collection, circa 1809. An eclectic blend of wooden floors, beamed ceilings, chandeliers and extra length king size four poster bed, with air conditioning, fireplace, cable TV, Bluetooth NFC sound bar and Wi-Fi.
There is a romantic bath for two, large bespoke shower and twin wash basins. Step out into the indigenous garden with pool, which leads on to historic Church Street.
THE SARONSBERG SUITE
The Saronsberg Suite is situated in the main hotel building, has an extra length king/twin size bed and comfortable arm chairs. The spacious bathroom has a bath for 2, large bespoke shower and twin basins. Standard with all our suites are air conditioning, fireplace, cable TV, Bluetooth NFC sound bar and Wi-Fi. Relax on your private deck with spectacular views of the Saronsberg Mountain.

All beds are extra length king size or twins, adorned with fine cotton linen, and two additionally have sofa beds, ideal for parents with young children.

HERITAGE FYNBOS ROOMS
These five period rooms are part of our heritage collection, and are located adjacent to the main building in the Winterhoek Manor (1813) and the Toll House(1809). Stroll out into indigenous gardens with pools, leading onto historic Church Street.
The charming period rooms feature extra length king size four poster beds, adorned with fine cotton linen, chandeliers, traditional yellow wood floors and beamed ceilings. All rooms are air conditioned with cable TV and WiFi, and feature luxurious showers, one ingeniously designed into the original fireplace.

For the purposes of this policy an infant is under the age of 2, and a child is age 2-17 inclusive. There is no charge for an infant using a cot. The hotel does not provide cots.

FROM CAPE TOWN VIA WELLINGTON
1.Take the N1, northbound, from Cape Town towards Paarl.
2.Exit the N1 at junction 47, onto R44 signposted Wellington/Stellenbosch. Turn left at the off ramp junction towards Wellington.
3.Continue on R44 towards Wellington. Straight ahead at 4 way stop,
4.After about 5km’s turn left at a set of traffic lights into Distillery Road – this is a continuation of the R44.
5.The R44 branches off towards Gouda. The road becomes the R46, continue straight ahead on the R46 towards Ceres.
6.2km after passing through the Nuwe Kloof Pass, turn left signposted Tulbagh.
7. Continue until reaching a 4 way junction. Turn left into the main road – Van der Stel Street
8.The hotel is half way down the street on the right hand side next to Standard Bank.

FROM CAPE TOWN VIA MALMESBURY
1.Take the N7, northbound, from Cape Town towards Malmesbury.
2.Exit N7 at the Malmesbury off ramp to your left. Turn left at first junction, heading into the town.
3.Pass the silos on your right, and at the second set of traffic lights turn left.
4. After 300m turn right signposted R46 Ceres and Riebeek Kasteel.
5. Continue on the R46, passing Riebeek Kasteel. At the junction with the R44 in Hermon, turn left towards Ceres.
6. Follow the signs for Ceres. The road number becomes the R46 again.
7.2km after passing through the Nuwe Kloof Pass, turn left signposted Tulbagh.
8. Continue until reaching a 4 way junction. Turn left into the main road – Van der Stel Street
9.The hotel is half way down the street on the right hand side next to Standard Bank.
